  35. I saved a few $$. Currently using a Ten Tec  Omni-V  and  looking
  36. for an upgrade to a new rig. {I don't hear anything about a new
  37. OMNI-7 ?? did anyone pick up on any rumors at Dayton ?}
  38.  
  39. What do you recommend for HF PacTOR ? something  that  will  grow
  40. with new PacTOR modes (PSK ?), run 300 baud G-TOR and have sufficient
  41. audio bandpass,filters selection etc ?.
  42.  
  43. I see that only the Yaesu has a "RTTY" and "Packet" connector  on
  44. the  back of the rig. But since most of PacTOR is/will be LSB and
  45. not use the FSK capabilities of the rig - is there an advantage ?
  46.  
  47. Any suggestions welcomed.

  63. I placed a larger HD online to handle requests from HAM-server.  In
  64. partitioning, I accidently placed the database pointers off in limbo.
  65. So...for the past few days, those of you ordering files have received
  66. nothing.  My apologies.

  68. Well...it's fixed now (I hope), so if you have ordered and  received
  69. nothing, try it again.

  87. I am currently running KA9Q NOS version 930507 compiled for 386/486
  88. copyright 1992.  I think I pulled it of oak.oakland.edu .

  90. When you telnet into the system you get the mailbox with various facilities 
  91. like telnet.
  92.  
  93. So when you use this telnet function to telnet to another host on the 
  94. internet network, it get as far as the intro messages before the login 
  95. prompt and just before you get the login prompt, the remote system 
  96. disconnects you.....help!

  98. But if you telnet to a mail port (port 25) it connects fine and let you send
  99. mail manually.

  143. Thanks for the info Drew; was very interesting.  The main thing that 
  144. seems to characterize a comparison between the two modes is the apparent 
  145. fact that G-TOR doesn't require a significant upgrading of hardware, 
  146. whereas Clover by nature of being a four-tone AFSK mode, does.  If GTOR 
  147. is within shouting distance of Clover with respect to performance, , it 
  148. may be that many amateurs will prefer to go that rout.  Time will tell, 
  149. of course.

  168. I have asked the same question except for my 3B2 UNIX box and EVERYONE
  169. says It can't be done or it could be done but would be slow and require
  170. precise timing and an integral knowledge of each function call in DOS
  171. and the equivelent call in UNIX.  I've given up on the idea...But it's
  172. still one of those things that will always be on my wishlist (I have 8
  173. serial ports  imagine all the possibilities for this old 3B2).

  175. I was wondering if I could run the Baycom TNC on my DOS machine
  176. and my regular PK-88 thru my UNIX box and network the two
  177. together some way using a slip connection???
